We are seeking remote Pathologist to join our team in Colombia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform thorough examinations of tissue samples, body fluids, and other specimens collected from individuals undergoing pre-employment screenings. Utilize microscopy, histology, and cytology techniques to assess specimens for abnormalities or pathological changes.
    • Analyze pathology findings and interpret test results to provide accurate diagnostic assessments. Identify cellular or tissue abnormalities indicative of disease processes, medical conditions, or health concerns relevant to maritime employment.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and other specialists, to discuss pathology findings and offer clinical insights. Provide consultations and recommendations based on pathology interpretations to support patient care and management decisions.
    • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of pathology services by adhering to established quality control measures and proficiency testing standards. Review and validate laboratory reports to verify the precision and completeness of diagnostic interpretations.
    • Maintain detailed records of pathology findings, diagnostic interpretations, and clinical recommendations. Document results accurately in electronic medical records systems or paper-based records, ensuring clarity and completeness for reference and communication purposes.
    • Stay informed about advances in pathology research, diagnostic methodologies, and medical knowledge relevant to pre-employment screenings. Participate in continuing education activities, conferences, and professional development opportunities to enhance expertise and skills.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, accreditation standards, and best practices in pathology services. Stay abreast of industry regulations and quality assurance requirements governing pathology laboratory operations to maintain high standards of practice.

Qualification:

    • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Clinical Pathology.
    • State medical license to practice pathology.
    • Experience working as a pathologist in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting.
    • Proficiency in histopathology, cytology, and diagnostic interpretation of tissue samples and specimens.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in pathology analysis and reporting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
