We’re seeking a detail-oriented Data Assistant / Analyst to support data operations, reporting, and process automation across a growing analytics function. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience in a data role who is comfortable working with Power BI, SQL, Python, Excel, and has exposure to Azure-based data workflows.
You’ll work closely with the VP of Analytics, as well as senior finance stakeholders, including the CFO and Director of Financial Analysis.
Schedule: 9 AM – 5 PM EST or CST (occasional overnight availability may be required)

Responsibilities:
- Data Administration (30%): Monitor overnight POS reports and confirm successful execution.
- Manually run reports or trigger pipelines when scheduled jobs fail.
- Maintain and update a master customer table with daily attribute changes.
- Assist with documenting and maintaining data pipelines.
- Data Operations Support (30%): Document data flows, pipeline dependencies, and exception-handling processes.
- Log and escalate recurring data issues to engineering when needed.
- Perform ad hoc data pulls and reconciliations for the analytics team.
- BI Quality Assurance (20%): QA Power BI dashboards and datasets for accuracy and logic consistency.
- Maintain a daily “data health” report to track key tables and identify anomalies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate BI outputs against source data.
- Process Improvement & Automation (20%): Identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual data tasks.
- Recommend enhancements to monitoring, alerting, and documentation.
- Work with engineering to transition repeatable tasks into automated workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in a data-focused role.
- Proficiency in: Power BI (dashboard review required during evaluation
- Python (coding review via GitHub or project walkthrough)
- SQL
- Excel (advanced proficiency)
- Familiarity with Azure data tools (e.g., Data Factory, Blob Storage, Functions).
- Comfortable using or learning data monitoring tools and job schedulers.
- Able to work in a Windows environment (required).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document processes clearly.
- Comfortable working independently and with cross-functional teams.
Additional Information:
- Candidates must be available during EST or CST business hours.
- Occasional overnight availability may be requested for pipeline monitoring.
- Candidates should be prepared to: Share a Power BI dashboard they’ve built.
- Provide a GitHub link with relevant Python or Azure code samples.
$10 - $13 an hour
