We all have important information we need to manage, and protecting it should be easy. Over 100,000 businesses and millions of people log in to 1Password to unlock smart, simple access to everything they care about. Our vision is to create a safer, simpler digital future for everyone, and our culture values simplicity, honesty and a human-centric approach to solving problems. Come help us unlock peace of mind so everyone can stay safer online.

We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as our Vice President of Corporate Marketing and Communications. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing communication strategies to achieve our brand and category building objectives. You will lead a talented group of individuals that form our content, creative, brand, social media, public relations, analyst relations, and internal communications teams. Your ultimate measures of success will be the strengthening of 1Password’s reputation as an enterprise cybersecurity innovator and the growth of the already considerable customer love for our brand.

In this role, you will serve as the driving force behind our brand strategy and category narrative, shaping how the world perceives and interacts with 1Password. This role transcends crafting compelling messages; it's about orchestrating a symphony of storytelling across multiple channels to captivate audiences, spark conversations, and drive meaningful connections.

1Password’s brand stands for something different. We believe that security software should make its users more productive, not inject productivity-robbing friction into their daily experience. Unlike most enterprise security software companies who build software for security administrators that is then imposed on employees, for the last eighteen years we have embraced a human-centric approach to everything from our product design North Stars to ways we engage with customers and future buyers. One of the joys and challenges you will face in this role is to build on this legacy and help our audiences understand and appreciate what sets us apart.

Reporting directly to the CMO, this is a remote role within the US or Canada.

What we're looking for:

    • Proven experience as a VP of Marketing, Marketing Senior Director, or a similar senior role in marketing and communications, with a track record of driving growth and elevating brand affinity in public or late-stage B2B SaaS companies.
    • At least 12 years of experience in leadership or senior roles across content, creative, PR, AR, social, and/or internal communications teams in B2B and B2C SaaS, preferable in companies targeting cybersecurity or IT persona.
    • A deep understanding of the cybersecurity industry, trends and technologies, and the ability to construct persuasive storytelling for security and IT audiences.
    • Experience leading communications through new product launches, M&A, and public financing events.
    • Experience creating new software categories through product launch communications, thought leadership, category evangelism, analyst influence, and community engagement.
    • A proven track record of driving measurable PR and AR results to achieve business growth objectives, elevate executive profiles, enhance the global brand reputation, or build category momentum.
    • Established relationships with key reporters and tier-1 media outlets covering the cybersecurity beat.
    • Experience creating a crisis management playbook, and leading crisis communications should the need arise.
    • Demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills, with a fearless approach to leading both the company and your team through complex challenges.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a gift for storytelling.
    • Passion for innovation and a relentless drive to push the boundaries of what's possible.
    • Exceptional leadership skills with an ability to inspire, develop, and lead a world-class team.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
