This is an Engineering Manager position ideally suited for an individual with prior leadership experience in a similar environment and a deep understanding of the needs of engineers across various technical disciplines. As the Engineering Manager of the Core Ops team, you will play a pivotal role in leading a high-impact team responsible for the core pillars of our technology infrastructure. Your leadership will ensure that our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, core services, and third-party integrations are not only robust and scalable but also serve as a catalyst for development efficiency across all teams.

Our tech stack: Python (Flask/SQLAlchemy), Angular, PostgreSQL/Aurora, RabbitMQ, Docker, AWS: EC2, RDS, S3, Redshift.

What you'll do:

    • Oversee the architecture, creation, and maintenance of a cutting-edge cloud infrastructure that meets the business's scalability, reliability, and security needs
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of  the CI/CD pipelines, promoting rapid and reliable code deployment (We are currently deploying multiple times every day, and this frequency is expected to increase rapidly in the near future)
    • Lead the development and enhancement of core services such as authentication and authorization, ensuring system integrity and user security across the wider organization
    • Oversee the integration and ongoing compatibility of third-party services with our platform (CRM, Messaging automation, ERP etc)Lead the innovation of tools and practices to accelerate development speed and improve feature quality across the company
    • Head the maintenance and evolvement of our event-driven infrastructure to support our service-oriented architecture
    • Directly manage a team of software engineers, assisting in their professional development, career path, and mastery of both soft and hard skills
    • Act as a liaison to facilitate integration with the parent organization, aligning Core Ops initiatives with broader organization strategies
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, both within the team and in partnership with other groups within the company

What it takes:

    • Engineering or related background with minimum 8 years software engineering experience, including 3 years leading teams and 5 years hands-on engineering
    • Extensive leadership experience in software engineering with a track record of team management and personal development of team members
    • Proficiency in cloud services, infrastructure management, and the design of secure, scalable systems
    • Expertise in CI/CD processes, tools, and best practices in a DevOps environment
    • Strong experience with service-oriented architectures and event-driven systems
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to foster a collaborative team environment

Take home challenge or presentation
Put your skills to the test. Depending on the role, you may be asked to work on a take-home challenge or a presentation to us. We know this won't show us all of your talents, but we can get a nice insight into how you work and vice versa.

Team Meeting
In most scenarios, you’ll get to meet your teammates or a member of the leadership team. This is a great chance for us to see how you fit into the wider organisation
