RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate effective communication with client project stakeholders regarding project status and recommendations.
- Craft client code that is not just efficient, but also performant, testable, scalable, secure, and of the highest quality.
- Actively participate in accurate planning and estimation efforts, utilizing project methods and tools.
- Proficiently gather requirements and organize/present developed features for clients.
- Execute complex activities within the current methodology and quality standards, showcasing success across diverse engagements.
- Promote client success across the team by collaborating with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user pain points, anticipate potential problems, and iterate on solutions that drive client success.
- Engage in agile software development, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, and other governance activities.
- Actively participate in the Engineering Practice community, mentoring others through Communities of Practice (CoPs) or on project teams, and supporting the growth of technical capabilities.
- Independently drive project delivery within defined architecture, demonstrating autonomy and accountability in all stages from conceptualization to deployment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Great interpersonal skills - must be a team player.
- 5+ years Java programming experience, including using JDK 11 and higher.
- 5+ years developing web based applications leveraging cloud services.
- Recent Hands-on experience, at least 2 years, with REST.
- Advanced knowledge of Spring Framework (DI), Spring REST controllers and Spring Security.
- Experience leveraging JDBC connectivity and experience with database abstraction layers such as jOOQ, Hibernate, or JPA Experience working in an Agile development model.
- Version Control (Git)
- Highlight:
- Java.
- Spring boot.
- Kafka.
- gRPC (Nice to have).
- Kotlin (Nice to have), JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Time-series database concepts, or has experience with a TSDB (e.g. TimescaleDB, InfluxDB).
- Being able to demonstrate coding experience (code samples /github repository / Stack Overflow participations) is highly recommended.
- Other Nice To Have:
- Java Concurrency concepts strong understanding.
- Modern IDE such as IntelliJ.
- Debugging / Issues Diagnosis.
- Java Web Server and Servlets containers such as Jetty.
- RESTful APIs Design that include Swagger documentation and Open API Specifications.
- Advanced working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, or H2) and ability to write and optimize SQL queries.
- Various network, web and application based protocols
- Additional Experience:
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Actively participate in agile meetings assisting in the grooming, scoping and sizing of user stories.
- Design, develop, and provide ongoing maintenance of Java application and associated API’s.
- Participate in defect analysis and recommend coding changes to correct issues.
- Debug and step through code and identify issues and problems.
- Craft unit and integration tests.
- Develop code according to internal published coding standards.
- Write easily understandable, testable, scalable and efficient code.
- Provide testing support to other development team members.
- Maintain and update code documentation.
- Validate designs against written specification.
- Contribute to maintaining release of code and code management.
- Provide informative updates and consistent feedback to project team and supervisor regarding status.
