Job Scope:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Portfolio Manager to join the 500 Global in Eurasia team. As a Portfolio Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing our growing portfolio. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting founders in their entrepreneurial journey. Job will require some traveling but no relocation needed. You need to be in a region with a timezone compatible with our investment region.

Essential Functions

    • Build strong relationships with founders to understand their unique needs and contribute to their growth.
    • Serve as a liaison between portfolio company founders, 500 Global’s team, mentor network, and ecosystem partners.
    • Onboard confirmed participants to 500’s tools, network, and resources.
    • Keep track of relevant events, opportunities, and information, and share them with portfolio companies as needed.
    • Facilitate introductions to the right expertise at critical stages of business development.
    • Provide hands-on support and collaborate with the team to offer strategic and operational guidance to founders.
    • Gather and analyze regular updates from portfolio companies, including financial reports, milestones, and challenges.
    • Identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation in collaboration with portfolio companies.
    • Develop strategies to manage the fund’s growing portfolio and ensure alignment with investment goals.
    • Use data analytics and market research to make informed decisions that optimize portfolio performance.
    • Implement KPIs and metrics to track the success of portfolio companies.
    • Develop and implement efficient processes for data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Develop reporting mechanisms to track portfolio performance and ensure transparency with stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting obligations post-program.
    • Provide quarterly updates on portfolio progress to internal teams (finance, market strategy) and external stakeholders (LPs, potential LPs).
    • Assist with legal due diligence and compliance during the pre-accelerator investment process.
    • Collaborate with legal teams to streamline legal processes related to portfolio companies.
    • Assist founders in their fundraising efforts, including ecosystem introductions, reviewing fundraising materials, and providing best practices for the process.
    • Support fundraising initiatives for 500 Eurasia and other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence to effectively manage relationships with founders, investors, and stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to mentor portfolio companies and provide hands-on support for growth.
    • Experience in building and nurturing diverse, inclusive communities and facilitating knowledge sharing.
    • Solid understanding of company-building fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot business challenges.
    • Financial acumen and investment expertise to assess opportunities and manage portfolio construction.

    • Demonstrated ability to activate and engage communities to support portfolio companies.
    • Support getting companies featured across events online and offline e.g. speaking engagements, startup booths.
    • Experience in investment decision-making and evaluating financial potential.
    • Resilience, decisiveness, and high integrity in a fast-paced environment.
