8x8, Inc. is seeking an experienced Professional Services (PS) Technical Manager, for our Integration and Customisation team.  The Professional Services Integration and Customisation (PSIC) team defines, scopes, develops, delivers, and supports unique solutions built to extend the capabilities of our award winning hosted UCaaS, CCaaS, and CPaaS solutions.  Your solutions development experience, call center and telecom industry knowledge, and strong customer presence, will help 8x8 expand our industry share of hosted unified communications for business customers.

You will be responsible managing all the technical aspects of the team. This will include directly overseeing the team members whose function is to develop SOWs and those that develop, test, and support the customisations we create. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Software Development functions in a customer facing organisation. 

Responsibilities

    • People Management of the technical members of the team, including contractors
    • Process improvement and adherence for the team
    • Customer escalation management
    • Collaborate with 8x8 sales managers and reseller partners as needed to communicate the value of the PSIC function
    • Conduct Lessoned Learned to improve future project execution
    • Work with internal Engineering, NOC and Product Management teams as necessary to prioritise PSIC needs 
    • Help to meet or exceed P&L goals for PSIC team

Knowledge in

    • Web application architecture and technologies
    • Database such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
    • Unified Communications, VOIP, and Contact Center technologies
    • TCP/IP, Network routing protocols, security infrastructure, L2/L3 switches
    • PHP, Python, or .NET

Wider experience

    • Experience with GitHub, Jira and Smartsheet or similar tools is a plus 
    • Experience in a PS consulting, field services engineering, and/or technical project management position for a vendor’s telecom, cloud services, and/or contact center services
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or comparable industry certifications and experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all levels of the organization including executive level
    • A driven individual who sets aggressive personal goals and executes on them
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Team player who can make can difference
    • EMEA Region based
    • Minimal travel required
