The 8x8 Inc. Military Internship program is open to all ranks; enlisted or officers may apply. Participants are not eligible for compensation from the company, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. An 8x8 Inc. Military Internship, whether entry or mid-level, is an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable civilian experience through specific industry training during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Participation in 8x8’s Military Internship Program is voluntary, Service member-initiated, and must be authorized by the individual’s chain of command prior to the start of the internship. Successful completion of all necessary company agreements and documentation will also be required.

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:
Has served at least 180 days on active duty
Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
Will receive an honorable discharge
Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in the chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program before starting the internship.
120 - 180 days of internship time have been approved by the participants' local command

Education:
Associate's Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent military experience, and industry training or certification. A highly qualified candidate may alternatively have a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications as per DODI 1322.29.

Job Description:
8x8 has Military Intern openings for a Project Manager Intern.

Duties and Tasks:
Troubleshoot complicated technical problems
Implement new software tools & technologies
Project management of new customer onboarding, and software implementations
Resource management
Manage, coordinate, and direct the implementation of solutions with the team and program partners
Collaborate with our team of data scientists and engineers
Clearly communicate with team members and non-technical civilian leadership
Creative thinker who can bring new perspectives to our team

Goals:
Intern program participants will receive training and job-shadowing opportunities to gain skills to meet the organization's specific needs. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on 8x8 core products, leadership expectations, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

Outcome:
We offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to learn from the Professional Services, Customer Success, and Global Support teams at 8x8 Inc. This will provide a foundation for working at a SaaS company, specifically within the Unified Communications Space.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities that our Interns will gain:
Deep understanding of Unified Communications implementations & customer support needs
Experience in Project Management Concepts 
Experience in Customer Relationship management
Familiarity with multiple project management tools (Smartsheet, Jira, etc)
Familiarity with Salesforce
Familiarity with G Suite 
Strong verbal and written communication skills (PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
