Join Aprio's Tax team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities.  Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Tax Associate - Global Mobility to join their dynamic team.

Position Responsibilities:

    • Prepare tax returns, tax equalization calculations, and other miscellaneous tax forms for expatriate employees
    • Develop and review tax equalization and international assignment policies 
    • Manage client expectations and delivery of services to expatriate employees of corporate clients 
    • Consult with clients on tax-efficient structuring of international assignments, effectively using tax treaties, minimizing worldwide tax burdens of business travelers, and managing risks associated with a global workforce 
    • Be an expert with individual income tax issues and tax law including dual citizens, expatriate issues and foreign tax compliance while maintaining your reputation as an authoritative professional. Areas of expertise include Subpart F income, PFICs, foreign reporting filings (Forms 3520 and 3520-A, Forms 5471, 8858 and 8865), and streamlined filings 
    • Conduct primary review of complicated or complex US individual tax returns; coordinate and manage global tax compliance services for clients by working with foreign offices for coordination of work
    • Assist in conducting tax research relating to expatriate employees
    • Draft correspondence with IRS or state taxing authorities in relation to tax notices and/or audits for expatriates
    • Review U.S. payroll reporting, withholding for wages paid to expatriate employees for accuracy including annual compensation statements

Qualifications

    • CPA or EA highly preferred
    • Experience working in a public accounting firm in Global Mobility  
    • 3+ years of experience in Global Mobility tax compliance and consulting experience in public accounting including individual tax returns for foreign nationals and US expatriates; payroll reporting; implementation of tax equalization and assistance with managing our client relationships  
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills  
    • Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology 
$73,000 - $120,000 a year
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
