Join Aprio's Information Technology team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Data Engineer, IT Data Services to join their dynamic team.
The Data Engineeris responsible for designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions. This role involves developing data models, data flows, and data integration architectures to meet business requirements and align with best practices. The Data Engineer will create and manage data pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory and other Azure services to integrate, transform, and load data efficiently. They will also design and implement data storage solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Profisee MDM software, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Purview, optimizing data processing workflows for efficiency and scalability. Ensuring data quality through validation processes, monitoring data solutions for performance, and troubleshooting data-related issues are key aspects of this role. Additionally, the Data Engineer will collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, integrate data solutions with other systems, and provide documentation and training to team members and end-users.
Position Responsibilities
- Data Architecture & Storage
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions aligned to business needs
- Create robust data models, flows, and storage using Microsoft Fabric and Azure SQL
- Manage master data with Profisee and integrate with existing systems
- Data Integration & Transformation
- Build and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related tools
- Ingest data from APIs and external systems into the Azure ecosystem
- Implement ETL/ELT logic to prepare data for consumer use
- Testing, Monitoring & Optimization
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all stages
- Troubleshoot performance issues and fine-tune data pipelines
- Use Azure monitoring tools and Purview for data estate management
- Advanced Analytics & Reporting
- Develop OLAP cubes and tabular models with SSAS
- Write complex MDX and DAX queries for data analysis
- Integrate data models with Power BI, Excel, and SSRS for reporting
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with analysts, developers, and business leaders to translate needs into data-driven solutions
- Document architectures, processes, and provide support/training as needed
- Participate in Agile sprints and contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE:
- Data solutions development using SQL, NoSQL, data warehouse and lakehouse concepts; Microsoft Fabric in particular is desirable
- Familiarity with SSAS
- Comfortable in/experienced with Python and/or Pyspark
- Data integration, processing and transformation (ETL, ELT, data pipeline orchestration, real-time data processing, ingesting streaming data); ingesting streaming data, and integrating data from RESTful APIs
- Data modeling, optimization & tuning
- Data security and data privacy compliance such as role-based security, access control & identity management, auditing and encryption practices; also API security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
- Related Azure services such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake Storage, ADF (Azure Data Factory) or similar technologies
- Data quality management and monitoring
- Full data lifecycle management
- Certifications in Azure, Power BI, or related areas are desirable
- Project management experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in database development, data architecture, data solutioning
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, information technology, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Power BI
- Experience with API management tools such as Azure API Management, Postman, or Swagger
- Master data management using Profisee software (Finder)
- Managment of data estate using Purview software (Data Governance to monitor data quality)
- Containerization tools, orchestration, deployment
- AirByte connectors & DBT
- Familiarity with accounting principles and the financial services industry
- Basic AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and fundamentals
- Knowledge and experience with training, validation, and testing datasets
