Our firm is a growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) ambitiously scaling over five years. To achieve this vision, we are expanding our team of wealth advisors, merging with advisor practices, and integrating other RIAs into our platform.
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Trader to join our team, reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO). The Senior Trader will play a critical role in creating scalable, technology-driven systems and processes that enable our growth while maintaining excellence in service and execution. Additionally, the Senior Trader will generate ideasto most efficiently execute trades and convey those tothe investment research team and select advisors.
The ideal candidate has between 10 and 20 years of trading experience in an RIA environment, with a minimum of 5 years working on the Orion trading platform, including extensive experience with Eclipse. Additionally, they must be highly proficient with both the Fidelity and Schwab custodial platforms.
This is a unique opportunity for an “A” player with deep expertise in designing and deploying technology-enabled, repeatable trading processes. The candidate will have expertise in scaling trading operations, selecting and implementing best-in-class trading systems, integrating advisor portfolios from lateral hires and M&A, managing tradersand optimizing processes to reduce waste. Experience in supporting M&A activity, integrating trading functions post-merger, and minimizing tax implications for clients is also required.

Position Responsibilities: Trading Operations Leadership
- Assess, re-engineer and scale trading operations to support the firm’s plan of growing AUM 7-fold over 5 years.
- Manage and mentor high-performing traders, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with client objectives.
- Develop and implement trading workflows that reduce errors, rework, and wasted time.
Position Responsibilities: M&A Integration and Tax Optimization
- Lead trading operations integration for newly acquired RIAs and advisor practices.
- Evaluate trading system and operations pre-merger as part of due diligence.
- Ensure trading workflows are standardized and aligned post-merger.
- Collaborate with wealth advisors and the investment team to develop tax-efficient trading strategies that minimize client tax implications.
Position Responsibilities: Technology and Systems Deployment
- Leverage expertise in the Orion’s Eclipse platform to optimize trading processes and workflows.
- Evaluate, select, and implement cutting-edge trading platforms and tools to support scalable, efficient operations.
- Introduce AI into trading operations and workflows.
- Seamlessly integrate trading system, portfolio management system and CRM platforms to create end-to-end solutions.
- Drive the adoption of automation and technology to reduce manual tasks and enhance accuracy.
Position Responsibilities: Optimizing Processes and Continuous Improvement
- Design and implement standardized, repeatable trading processes to support scalability and consistency. Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to optimize resource utilization and team capacity.
- Establish KPIs and operational benchmarks to measure performance and track progress.
Position Responsibilities: Generating Ideas for Efficient Trade Execution
- Stay abreast of market trends, sector opportunities, and emerging technologies to inform trading strategies.
- Recommend trading strategies associated with minimizing client tax liabilities with low basis positions.
Position Responsibilities: Compliance and Risk Management
- Partner with compliance to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and trading best practices.
- Implement controls to mitigate operational risks, including trade errors and execution delays.
Qualifications: Key Competencies
- Technologically Forward:This is mandatory. Deep expertise in trading systems and platforms, (Orion Eclipse is mandatory), with a proven track record of leveraging technology for efficiency and scalability. Commit to learning and implementing Artificial Intelligence into workflows.
- Execution-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to execute complex projects, especially integration of new advisors with existing client portfolios, with precision and measurable results. Speed matters.
- Systems Builder: Skilled in designing and implementing repeatable processes that support rapid growth.

Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Between 10 and 20 years of trading experience with an RIA.
- Minimum of 5 years of trading experience with the Orion platform, specifically on Eclipse, within an RIA.
- Proven success in scaling trading operations in a high-growth environment.
- Experience in M&A integration, particularly in due diligence and trading functions post-merger.
- Extensive knowledge and operational experience with both Fidelity and Schwab custodial platforms.
- Strong background in deploying technology and automation to improve trading efficiency.
- Expertise in developing tax-efficient trading strategies.
