This senior level underwriting position provides timely and high-quality customer service to agents by screening, pre-qualifying, rating, and processing transactions for all commercial property lines. Under limited supervision, the Senior CML Underwriter uses advanced knowledge and skills to handle complex account work, solve problems, and provide technical support. This position is required
to demonstrate complex decision-making with broad limits of authority to recommend pricing and risk exceptions where appropriate to maximize and meet business plans

What You'll Be Doing

    • Understand risks acceptable to company and accept and deny risks based on corporate guidelines.
    • Offer strategic insight based on prior experience.
    • Model CRP and/or BOP risks to ensure accuracy in pricing.
    • Review CRP and/or BOP submissions for claim information and property characteristics.
    • Perform analysis using metrics outlined by leadership.
    • Rate and prepare renewal quotes using advanced pricing analysis and tools.
    • Ability to effectively build relationships with agents and negotiate policy terms.
    • Help create dashboard reporting and analysis.
    • Facilitate the creation of new processes and oversight procedures.
    • Participate in the UAT testing of rate changes or other product enhancements.
    • Communicate with sales representatives on agent relations and other issues.
    • Mentor and train less experienced underwriters and underwriting assistants.
    • Work with leaders to evaluate and drive profitability and expansion initiatives.
    • Work in a collaborative environment and with team members of varying skill levels.

What You'll Need

    • Bachelor's degree (B.A/B.S.) from a four-year college or university or the equal amount of
    • work experiences.
    • 10-15 years of insurance experience in commercial underwriting, commercial claims, or
    • commercial product development.
    • Professional designation (CPCU, AU, ARM) preferred.
    • Occasional travel may be required.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, exchange ideas and convey information clearly and
    • concisely, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to collaborate with other business and functional areas.
    • Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an
    • emphasis on using Excel spreadsheets.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • High level of motivation.
    • Ability to prioritize important and pressing tasks.
$65,000 - $95,000 a year
