The Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer will lead a team of engineers responsible for optimizing and maintaining GMP manufacturing process equipment at our aseptic manufacturing facility. This individual will drive engineering initiatives, oversee process improvements, and ensure equipment reliability to support a high-performance, compliance-driven environment. The role requires hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Validation, Quality, and Facilities teams. 

Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and performance oversight. 
    • Oversee the design, procurement, commissioning, and validation of process equipment, including aseptic filling lines, clean-in-place (CIP) skids, mixing skids, ultrafiltration, and chromatography systems. 
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity. 
    • Implement and manage continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize operational costs. 
    • Ensure compliance with GMP regulations, validation requirements, and company quality standards. 
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in deviation investigations, CAPA resolution, and process development projects. 
    • Support tech transfer activities, ensuring smooth integration of new products and technologies. 
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive engineering strategies that align with business objectives. 
    • Manage workload prioritization and resource allocation to meet project deadlines. 
    • Maintain detailed documentation, including equipment specifications, maintenance records, and technical reports.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 
    • 5+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role (preferred). 
    • Strong knowledge of aseptic manufacturing, process validation, and equipment commissioning. 
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting process control systems, automation, and mechanical equipment. 
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. 
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with a focus on team development. 
    • Technical writing proficiency for SOPs, validation protocols, and engineering reports. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and engineering software tools.
