The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for the operation of the utilities plant at August Bioservices Nashville, TN manufacturing site. The site consists of office space, laboratory facilities, central utilities, warehouses, drug product filling, manufacturing, and all support infrastructure and equipment. This position will include operation of the high-pressure boiler (80 hp), clean utility systems (WFI, RO, Clean Steam) and operation of the Honeywell EMS/BMS building management systems. This function will operate and support maintenance of these critical utility system and notify effected departments if any issues occur. This role will support contractor management when service contracts are required on the utility services.
Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment and adjusting levels as necessary
- Maintain systems by scheduling regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacement and all other tasks necessary to keep all components performing optimally; identify and repair or replace malfunctioning components
- Ensure safety by monitoring safety equipment, identifying potential issues and taking appropriate steps to suspend operations and repair the problem
- Perform necessary repairs and replacements, obtain replacement parts and upgrade components as needed while staying within the budget
- Create and enter properly documented records of inspections, maintenance routines and repairs which includes 20 minute inspections of boiler system to be logged throughout shift
- Execute preventative maintenance on critical utility systems
Requirements
- HS Diploma Required,
- 0-2 years working experience with complex systems and/or industrial sector preferred
- Oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly safety-consciousPreferred:
- Knowledge of the operation and logging of high pressure boiler systems
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management system
- Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical utility systems including reverse osmosis (purified water), Water for Injection and Clean Steam generation
Ability to work a rotating schedule 2nd, 3rd shift weekends and on-call highly preferred
