The Director of IT will lead August Bioservices’ technology strategy, infrastructure, and operations, ensuring the resilience, scalability, and security of our enterprise systems. This leader will oversee all aspects of IT, including cybersecurity, system administration, and IT operations, while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with proven leadership skills, ensuring our IT environment supports business growth, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Leadership: Define and execute the IT roadmap in alignment with business goals.
- Cybersecurity: Design, implement, and oversee a robust cybersecurity program, including risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance with FDA, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks.
- System Administration: Ensure reliable performance of enterprise infrastructure (servers, networks, databases, and cloud environments), with strong backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery capabilities.
- Operational Excellence: Direct daily IT operations, including user support, troubleshooting, and system performance monitoring, ensuring minimal disruption to business processes.
- Innovation & Growth: Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
- Collaboration: Partner with business leaders to understand IT requirements, implement solutions, and communicate IT strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Budget & Vendor Management: Oversee IT budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations to maximize value and manage costs effectively.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably at least 3-5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and controls (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2).
- Hands-on experience with system administration (Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, virtualization, networking, cloud platforms).
- Experience supporting or managing ERP systems is a plus, but not required.
- Proven success managing IT infrastructure and large-scale projects in regulated environments (pharma, biotech, healthcare, or similar industries preferred).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong business acumen with ability to balance technology priorities with organizational needs.
