Bustle Digital Group (BDG) is seeking a Director of Sales, Midwest to join our growing team in the Midwest. In this role, you'll work with advertisers in a consultative, solutions-oriented manner—identifying partnership opportunities and driving revenue across BDG’s diverse portfolio of digital brands and platforms.

The ideal candidate is focused, curious, and highly connected, with a proven track record of selling digital media and content marketing programs. You should be a creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building meaningful, long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

    • Serve as a strategic consultant to clients, educating them on BDG’s audience, brand portfolio, and full suite of digital offerings to drive long-term partnership opportunities.
    • Develop a deep understanding of client business objectives and industry challenges to inform tailored solutions and drive revenue growth.
    • Lead the end-to-end sales process—from prospecting and pitching to execution and renewal—managing a robust pipeline of both agency and client-direct relationships.
    • Cultivate and expand senior-level relationships across brands and agencies in the Midwest, positioning BDG as a key digital media partner.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with pre-sale, marketing, editorial, and account management teams to develop innovative, insight-driven proposals that align with client KPIs.
    • Act as a thought leader and strategic partner during ideation sessions, offering proactive and creative solutions beyond the RFP process.
    • Own and grow a book of business, setting and exceeding revenue targets through strategic account planning and market development.
    • Stay on top of media trends, competitive landscape, and emerging platforms to position BDG offerings effectively and identify new business opportunities.
    • Partner with sales leadership to define quarterly and annual sales strategies, contribute to forecasting, and provide market intelligence to inform broader company goals.
    • Maintain a strong presence in the Midwest market by regularly meeting with key stakeholders, attending industry events, and actively prospecting new business, while also serving as a supportive, collaborative teammate to fellow Midwest-based colleagues.

Requirements

    • 10+ years of experience in digital media sales, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
    • Deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, with experience building and interpreting comprehensive media plans
    • High energy, self-motivated, and passionate about digital media and content-driven marketing solutions
    • Demonstrated success in managing and growing a book of business, with strong prospecting, cold-calling, and pipeline management skills
    • Established senior-level relationships with brand marketers and media agencies, particularly in the Midwest region
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a tenacious drive, strategic thinking, and a solutions-oriented approach
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills—both written and verbal—with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and prioritization skills, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
    • Highly accountable, with demonstrated use of best practices in sales reporting, forecasting, CRM use, and cross-team communication
    • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar platforms)

$145,000 - $165,000 a year
In addition to this base salary range, this role includes a commission component that varies based on experience and demonstrated skill set.
