NYLON is seeking an enthusiastic Editorial Intern to contribute to the site and Nylon Print this summer. Day-to-day tasks vary, but applicants can expect to assist with meeting prep, story research, transcribe interviews, conduct phone interviews, and assist with Volume II of Nylon Print. The intern would also be responsible for assisting on special projects and original lifestyle photo shoots. The intern is also encouraged to pitch story ideas and attend events.

Applicants should be college graduates or in their final years of college, and should be able to work in BDG’s Manhattan office three days a week. In your cover letter, please list which topics within our portfolio you’re most interested in. Check them out on Nylon.com.

Candidates should be available to work 3 days per week out of our NYC office.BDG’s 2024 Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience at one of the fastest growing digital media companies today. Our immersive program gives each intern the chance to explore and develop their interests through executive mentorship, career training, professional development seminars and workshops, collaborative projects, off-site events and more.

This is a paid, part-time opportunity beginning June 4, 2024 and runs through August 23, 2024. Candidates should be available to work up to 28 hours per week from BDG’s New York City HQ office near Madison Square Park, depending on your role. 

Responsibilities

    • Scanning the internet for timely news stories
    • Writing news posts, and pitching essays and curated articles for potential publication
    • Research and other editorial projects
    • Conducting and transcribing interviews
    • Organization support for production of Nylon Print Volume II 
    • Prep materials for meetings

Requirements

    • Availability of at least 3 days per week
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to successfully multitask and be detail-oriented 
    • Social media savviness — have a strong grasp on what kind of content works on various platforms and also an awareness of key influential talent
    • A positive, team-oriented attitude and strong interpersonal skills
    • An avid interest in learning about branded content, writing, editing, and creative strategy
    • An enthusiasm for BDG’s mission and the energy to work at a fast-paced company
    • A flexible, ambitious mind
    • Prior experience with digital or print magazines 
$17 - $17 an hour
