Elite Daily is looking for a remote, part-time writer with an interest in covering travel, lifestyle, social media, and health/wellness topics to join its Experiences team. Day-to-day responsibilities include covering viral TikTok recipes, the best quotes from popular TV shows, wanderlust-inducing travel pieces, and experiential holiday stories.
Like our millennial and Gen Z readers, applicants should have a deep passion for experiences over things, such as Bridgerton-inspired home decor ideas or how you and your bestie can live out Olivia Rodrigo’s latest music video. Interested candidates should also be comfortable tackling a wide range of topics, including Instagram captions, the current state of travel, personal narratives, and highlighting important projects from underrepresented groups. Coverage includes everything from queer-owned Etsy shops to virtual events that celebrate and support BIPOC voices.
The ideal candidate is creative, curious, has a unique perspective on the news, and possesses the ability to produce thoughtful, engaging, clean, and authoritative stories and headlines. They must display an understanding of the Elite Daily voice — which is equal parts relatable, clever, inclusive, and fun — as well as its audience. Experience tracking down expert sources and conducting interviews is a plus.
This position is part-time, remote, and reports to the Associate Experiences Editor. Applicants must have availability to work three to four shifts per week, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, between Monday and Friday.
- Turn around 3 articles per day and jump on new stories as needed
- Pitch 3-5 fresh, original angles daily
- Conduct interviews with experts, when necessary
- Availability to work remotely 3-4 days per week, Monday-Friday
- 2+ years of relevant reporting/blogging/writing experience, preferably in lifestyle topics
- Ability to meet deadlines and submit clean copy with minimal edits
- Familiarity with Elite Daily style and SEO best practices
- Proficient in writing in AP Style
