Bustle Digital Group is seeking a proactive, creative, and brand-driven storyteller and events producer to join our growing Experiential Marketing team. As the Director, Experiential Marketing, you will lead the ideation, development, and production of our brands’ revenue-driving tentpoles and custom experiential offerings across our portfolio of brands.
Role Overview
- Brand Tentpoles, Events, & Partnerships: Ideate new signature initiatives aligned with editorial and rooted in insights & each site’s brand ethos, managing creative development, packaging & material rollout. Participate in internal brainstorms and concept development for RFPs and proactive pitches, and bring big creative thinking, writing, and visual presentation skills to each proposal and pitch
- Experiential Production: Scope, plan, and execute experiential tentpoles and partner activations, source and manage vendors, manage budgets and timelines, build activation decks, and produce small and large-scale events nationally and internationally
- Research & insights: Collaborate with our BDG Trends & Insights Team, uncovering insights to power the above
- This role offers the opportunity to transition from temporary to permanent and will report to the EVP, Brand Marketing & Experiential.
Responsibilities
- Help build a strategy to identify needs across the BDG portfolio and categories, ideating, managing, and marketing multi-platform programs that center around experiential
- Lead the development of innovative ideas and category-based activations aligned to brand tentpoles at relevant key cultural moments for BDG and our advertising partners
- Contribute to development for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and proactive pitches, showcasing exceptional creative thinking, writing, and visual presentation in each proposal and pitch. Develop packages in partnership with marketing, editorial, and planning to create compelling offerings for brand partners
- Manage interdepartmental workflow to ensure that all new initiatives and ideas are communicated across all BDG stakeholders and necessary teams
- Understand and leverage insights to better curate exclusive opportunities backed by data
- Stay abreast of industry & competitive news, unique advertiser programs and innovations, with focus on innovating BDG’s offerings
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing, creative, sales, account management, editorial, finance, planning, talent, and legal, to ensure seamless production of experiential initiatives
- Experience in working closely with design teams and fabricators to bring concepts to life, providing guidance, feedback, and creative direction to ensure the successful execution of designs.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experiential marketing experience
- Seasoned storyteller and creative thinker who can propose thought-provoking solutions unique to BDG’s diverse array of properties and brand experiences
- Strong production, organizational, project management, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Excellent creative writing with an ability to execute visually impactful experiences
- Strong communication and presentation skills; must be able to pitch ideas and onboard others toward a common strategic goal
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal processes in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Keynote, MS Office, Monday.com, and experience managing budgets upwards of $1M
- Flexibility to travel and work outside regular office hours, as necessary
$135,000 - $145,000 a year
