Bustle Digital Group is hiring a Fashion Market Director to cover multiple markets, work on photoshoots, mentor junior staffers and represent our brands on appointments and at industry events.  

The Fashion Market Director will be on the fashion team working across the BDG Portfolio, titles include Nylon, Bustle, TZR, Elite Daily, Romper, Scary Mommy, Fatherly, Inverse etc. This role is based in New York and will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Fashion.

Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with SVP of Fashion on direction for cover shoots, fashion wells, styled shoots, styled portraits and accessory shoots
    • Overseeing both US & International Fashion Markets
    • Mentor and top edit Senior Fashion Editors on market for photoshoots
    • Research Trends at the beginning of each season and build a comprehensive trend reports
    • Collaborate with Fashion Team to assemble a board of designer looks and accessories based on creative concept
    • Liaise with external PR's requests and secure samples in line with the proposed mood boardWork with the Fashion Editorial Team on shoot logistics for covers, fashion wells and portraits
    • Communicate with Creative Team to iron out production details, creative directions, and fashion needs for every shoot
    • Coordinate with Creative Team and Fashion Team on shoot schedule
    • Work with sales team on fashion sales/marketing initiatives
    • Network, nurture, and maintain strong contacts within the fashion industry
    • Collaborate with the BDG Lifestyle teams to brainstorm and pitch story ideas for larger packages
    • Monitor fashion to ensure shoots are executed within allotted budget and within the total budget for each quarter

Requirements

    • 10  years of experience in fashion editorial and publishing
    • Must be able to work out of our NYC offices 
    • Extremely organized and able to manage high volume of tasks efficiently 
    • Contacts in Fashion Public Relations/Marketing/Sales 
    • Deep knowledge of Fashion Market, designers, showrooms, etc.
    • Detail oriented, a natural problem solver and a team player
    • Salary Range: $100,000-$110,000
