The Biden For President Campaign is seeking a Deputy Director of Message Events to support the communications team in Wilmington, including managing principal and surrogate travel planning, working with the states team on press logistics, assisting in surrogate media booking, and other duties as assigned. We are looking for folks with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.

Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in managing principal and non-principal surrogate travel planning.
    • Frequent travel to states to assist the states team in executing on event logistics and managing press interactions.
    • Draft press materials including press releases and advisories.
    • Assist in surrogate booking around campaign events.
    • Collaborate with communications team members on additional projects, as needed.

    • Strong written and verbal communications skills; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels. 
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
    • Ability to handle projects with the appropriate level of discretion and confidentiality. 
    • Ability to work well under pressure with humor and grace. 
    • A team player that recognizes the importance of working collaboratively.

Additional Useful Skills & Qualifications

    • Prior experience on a political campaign. 
    • Prior communications experience
    • Knowledge of media logistics needs
$95,000 - $120,000 a year
