The Biden For President campaign is looking for a talented, experienced and creative individual to join the team as Video Lead, focused on capturing road non-principal videography and documentary-style storytelling. The ideal candidate for this role has experience with event coverage, in-the-field videography, and location filming with real people, as well as the ability to troubleshoot in high-pressure situations. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in an ever-changing environment, and functioning as a “player/coach,” ideating and producing video on their own as well as managing a focused team.This position reports to the Director of Video and is full-time in Wilmington, DE.
Key Responsibilities
- Ideate, produce and direct video shoots featuring real people and stories from locations around the country, sometimes in parallel with or following Presidential travel and events
- Work under tight deadlines to create original, shareable, compelling videos to reach persuadable audiences across digital platforms
- Set best practices and manage some other campaign video producers’ assignments and work
- Help manage the post-production workflow for road and remote footage.
- Help ensure that all video shoots on location are effectively managed.
- Hire and manage freelancers as needed
- Analyze video performance to ensure videos have maximum potential reach
- Coordinate with the rest of the video and digital mobilization teams to ensure video is distributed quickly and efficiently with editors and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with social media and advertising strategists to capture content conducive to use on organic and paid channels.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years experience shooting documentary-style films, shorts, and/or promos for digital and social.
- Experience filming in high-pressure situations, and adjusting to flexible shoot situations on location.
- Detailed knowledge of production and post-production gear, camera and software
- Experience managing or overseeing focused teams
- Experience editing videos maximized for success and engagement on social platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team or crew.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to relocate to Wilmington, DE
$90,000 - $110,000 a year
