The Biden For President campaign is looking for talented press secretaries to serve in battleground states across the country to help drive positive coverage and messaging. The ideal candidate for this role has experience in political communications and media, experience working directly with members of the press, and excellent writing skills.

These roles will be based in states across the country, and will require in-person work.

Key Responsibilities

    • Respond to press inquiries, pitch and shape stories 
    • Plan and staff campaign press events throughout the state 
    • Build press relationships with local news outlets
    • Assist in booking local media interviews 
    • Draft materials including event memos, talking points, remarks, statements
    • Work with other campaign departments, including political, digital, voter protection and organizing, to maintain message consistency throughout campaign communications
    • Assisting in surrogate trips to the state, including drafting talking points and prepping the surrogates for interviews
    • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Prior experience working in political communications, including in state, local, or federal government or on campaigns
    • Excellent writing skills 
    • Experience talking to and building relationships with members of the press 
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
    • Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Willing to relocate to a battleground state
$6,000 - $7,500 a month
