The Deputy Director of Scheduling and Advance is responsible for providing operational support to the campaign’s principal advance team, including but not limited to overseeing site design and logistics, troubleshooting and providing general support to the campaign’s advance staff. Reporting to the Director of Scheduling and Advance Principal Team, this role will also help the department slate advance teams while assisting in the training and development of the campaign’s advance staff, with a particular focus on site/press shot design. Stands in for the Director as needed for calls and meetings. 

This role requires an individual who is well organized, exercises good judgment and who comes to the job with prior experience managing events and production logistics. This is a full-time position based in Wilmington, Delaware. 

Key Responsibilities

    • Work with state teams and advance teams to select sites and produce campaign events 
    • Assist advance teams on the ground with planning for crowd logistics and management of crowds at events 
    • Assist advance teams on the ground with site selection, design and logistics
    • Build strong working relationships with state staff and headquarters departments to facilitate cooperation and collaboration between the advance teams and departments across the campaign 
    • Assist with the slating of advance teams 
    • Assist with the training of advance staff with a focus on site design and logistics
    • Other duties as assigned to support the campaign 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Proven experience with scheduling and advance work on campaigns or government, specifically in campaign organizing, crowd building, press coordination or event management 
    • The ability to be nimble and solve problems, including logistical and tactical challenges that may arise during the day-to-day execution of the campaign’s events 
    • Exceptional organizational skills 
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with teams at national headquarters and in the states 
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while maintaining flexibility, professionalism and sense of humor
    • The ability to exercise good judgment while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
    • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and principles 
$95,000 - $120,000 a year
