As the Director of Marketing, you are accountable for developing and maintaining BlackCloak’s brand and product marketing. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive, integrated lead generating campaigns and events that can be nurtured into qualified opportunities. You will manage all SEO activities such as content strategy, link building, and keyword strategy to increase rankings on all major search networks. You will work closely with the Customer Success Team to develop and manage programs to generate customer renewals and referrals.  

This is a hands-on position that will require roll-up the sleeves execution. You will be joining a team that moves fast and wears many hats, but will be starting as a team of one doing all things with our external partners. You will work closely with Customer Success, Sales, Cyber, and Finance to continue the evolution of the technology, business processes, program execution, and analytics to support BlackCloak’s fast growth plan. 

What You Will Do

    • Lead Demand Generation Efforts with Passion:
    • Collaborate with Sales leaders to create compelling campaigns and events for continuous lead generation;
    • Oversee and guide the development of optimization strategies that foster BlackCloak’s organic SEO results;
    • Build awareness of BlackCloak and drive site traffic through public relations, including managing our PR partner’s media outreach, and being an active participant in the organic social media conversations happening in our space;
    • Track and report on results using various data analysis tools to make important decisions, improve conversion, and grow revenue.
    • Drive Brand Excellence with Attention to Detail:
    • Manage the ongoing development of BlackCloak’s brand vision and clearly articulate this vision, opportunities and challenges, and alignment with the broader team’s goals and priorities;
    • Develop and maintain BlackCloak’s product marketing strategy in a manner that supports consistent business growth and retention;
    • Drive brand awareness and excellence and ensure all company materials and messages follow our brand guidelines and clearly communicate BlackCloak’s mission;
    • Oversee design through agencies, freelancers, and in-house teams.
    • Enable Sales Success through Collaboration:
    • Ensure positive relationship with Sales, forging outstanding communication and aligning on campaign and target account strategy;
    • Work collaboratively with the Client Success and Product teams to create compelling product marketing materials such as data sheets and videos;
    • Benchmark data and analyze trends to develop actionable solutions through semi-annual client reports, RFI and RFP responses, custom presentations, etc.;
    • Collaborate with leadership to align brand principles across the company; 
    • Equip all employees to be brand ambassadors through training and guidance;
    • Manage CRM to optimize nurture activities for sales prospects.
    • Lead Marketing Operations with Grace:
    • Plan, direct and coordinate assigned budgets in accordance with organizational strategic objectives;
    • Plan and oversee all social media advertising, influencing, marketing campaigns;
    • Drive consistent alignment throughout your team by establishing ambitious OKRs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis;
    • Organize, coordinate, and attend in-person events and webinars.

What You Need to be Successful

    • 10+ years of marketing experience, communications, demand generation (ABM too) with a focus on cybersecurity software/technology
    • Understanding of cybersecurity and privacy, with at least 2 years of experience working for a cybersecurity company
    • Experience managing marketing teams, agencies, and contractors
    • Experience in negotiating contracts and handling budgets
    • Advanced knowledge of social media (organic more so than paid) - preferably LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
    • Intermediate knowledge of marketing automation systems, CRMs, and widely accepted office application suites like Microsoft and Google
    • Experience in website design and content development; blogs, social media, cybersecurity conferences, events, media
    • Expert understanding of the lead-to-sales funnel and demand generation
    • Quantitative data analysis of program effectiveness, forecasting, and ROI; exceptional analytical and reporting skills; Google Analytics
    • Stellar written and oral communication skills
    • BA/BS degree
