Blep Technologies is one of the fastest growing, leading blockchain data infrastructure player, making alternative data easily accessible by everyone. We focus on real-time blockchain and blockchain-adjacent data, and offer a library of over 200,000 real time streams of raw metrics while connecting to thousands of blockchain applications on Ethereum today. Blep is a small but ambitious team consisting of builders, researchers, and adventurers with extensive experience both in and out of the blockchain industry. Our team is located in more than 5 countries and comes from former prestigious companies including Intel, Uber, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte.


The Infrastructure team at Blep is responsible for the internal platform used by all engineering teams to build, deploy, and monitor Blep's products. As a member of the Infrastructure team you will report directly to the CEO/COO and work on core infrastructure that is critical to Blep's overall performance and reliability. You will collaborate across engineering teams to identify gaps in our automation and tooling, helping the entire engineering organization become more effective.

This is a mid-level to expert level role – you will be managing big data infrastructure in production.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

    • Support the needs of the engineering organization enabling them to rapidly deliver new services and deploy their changes with high confidence.
    • Own and scale all the cloud (GCS/AWS) services used by Blep, primarily using Kubernetes.
    • Own, scale, and optimize the data pipeline (time-series database, Kafka, etc) used by Blep.
    • Develop and operate the build pipeline from GitHub to production.
    • Build monitoring and logging services to ensure the smooth operation of Blep products.
    • Implement tooling for multi-region support and fast failover.
    • Day-to-day work with the CEO/CTO on the infrastructure roadmap to support Blep's business needs.
    • Sponsor resiliency efforts to achieve 99.98%+ uptime for critical services.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
    • Strong backend engineering experience
    • Experience developing on top of a cloud provider (e.g. AWS, GCS)
    • Experience with Kubernetes (Helm is a bonus)
    • Experience with various distributed databases including Postgresql
    • Experience with Kafka
    • Experience working with a mix of open source infrastructure products to build out systems
    • The ability to learn quickly when it comes to understanding and staying up-to-date with cloud services and features
    • Design and product sense for building as an internal infrastructure/platform team
    • High level of interest in blockchain/decentralized/distributed technology
    • Commitment to working with an international team
