About the Role 

This role will be very demanding, with the goal of electrifying tens of thousands of buildings over the next three years and responsible for leading and driving the successful commercial execution of BlocPower’s national building electrification programs.

Because this role requires deep partnership with local communities, candidates must be a resident of the relevant region.  The New York area is a large, critical market for BlocPower.  The company has experience, strong electrification incentives and committed financing.  Your primary duties will be to leverage this base and grow BlocPower’s business in the region with an emphasis on owners with multiple building portfolios  

What You'll Do

    • Promote and close BlocPower electrification projects to multifamily building owners, with an emphasis on owners with multiple building portfolios, homeowners and others 
    • Communicate and foster relationships with prospective clients
    • Collaborate and partner with business development teammates to continuously improve strategies to close projects.
    • Identify where improvements can be made and discuss with management and VP of Sales 
    • Data driven and eager to update leads, opportunities, and pipeline in Salesforce, Hubspot and/or other reporting tools
    • Participate in site visits with engineering team
    • Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, product, operations, and senior management help partner with equipment manufacturers and contractors 
    • Monitor market and competitor activity
    • Improve customer satisfaction by anticipating customer needs
    • Monitor customer activity and report trends to product and senior team  
    • Participate in regularly occurring meetings including company all-hands calls, finance-to-close, sales huddles, project scrum meetings, etc.
    • Work with external business development partners as requested
    • Develop and enhance relationships with local contractors 
    • Foster relationships with equipment manufacturers and contractors 

Who You Are

    • 5-7 years sales experience in a B2B or B2C environment (preferably to building owners, homeowner and/ or property managers) with documented track record of success at a high level
    • 3-5 years HVAC, sustainability or relevant  sales experience
    • Understands New York single and multifamily market 
    • Experience working with building contractors 
    • Solid understanding of financing and structuring a deal
    • Experience with CRM is a mustContacts in the NY Property Manager/ Developer vertical
    • Experience selling to co-op/ condo boards
    • Comfortable in a highly technical type of sales environment
