What we're looking for

We are seeking an expert, mid-career professional with experience in project finance and deal structuring in carbon markets, energy finance or related fields to help our firm increase the supply of carbon removal for the market. 

Responsibilities

    • Develop the supply pipeline and due diligence for project finance deals in the carbon market
    • Develop partnerships and commercial terms with debt and equity financing partners 
    • Originate and develop deals with suppliers and project developers of carbon management and carbon removal technologies
    • Build financial models that accurately reflect the terms of offtake contracts, various financing vehicles, and wholesale market dynamics, incorporating technical project qualities, offtake contract structure, and financial structure, including tax equity and back leverage
    • Lead deal structuring and negotiations, developing the capital stack and offtake agreements 
    • Assist in presenting deals to the executive team for approval of bid structures

Qualifications

    • Prior experience in banking and project finance for carbon markets, natural resources, energy, and/or comparable experience in business development and deal structuring from the supply side of power, utilities or a related industry
    • Track record of developing strategic relationships across industries 
    • Superior communication, negotiation, and analytical skills; able to meet informational needs across a wide range of actors
    • Flexibility and problem solving
    • Particular aptitude in in financial modelling in Microsoft Excel
    • Strong people skills
    • Entrepreneurial, self-starting approach
$202,500 - $247,500 a year
