What We Do
Care Access is a unique, multi-specialty network of research sites which operates as one connected team of physician investigators, nurse coordinators, and operations managers. Our goal is to engage every healthcare professional in clinical research and to make clinical trials a care option for every patient. By removing this bottleneck, Care Access is helping accelerate the approval and delivery of critical and life-saving therapies.
Who We Are
We care. Our people are the engines behind our mission: to revolutionize access to clinical trials for the benefit of patients everywhere. We care for one another, find new ideas to accelerate medicine, and seed a long-term impact for generations.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with domain expertise in the Azure stack to lead the design and implementation of our data architecture. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for architecting and optimizing a data platform that supports our clinical trial operations and integrates seamlessly with AWS, Google BigQuery, and big data tools. This role requires a deep understanding of Azure data services, DevOps practices, Terraform, Azure Fabric, Azure HDInsight, data governance, and the ability to design scalable, compliant, and robust data solutions.
What You'll Be Working On
Duties include but not limited to:
· Architect, design, and implement a comprehensive data platform leveraging Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Databases, Azure HDInsight, and Databricks.
· Lead the establishment and enforcement of standardized scripting, coding practices, and development frameworks to optimize resource utilization, streamline workflows, and enhance the scalability and maintainability of data architecture solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
· Oversee database implementation procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11
· Manage the migration of data from legacy systems to modern, innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of clinical trial operations.
· Develop and maintain detailed data architecture documentation, including system topology, data flow diagrams, and DevOps pipelines.
· Monitor and optimize system performance through regular testing, troubleshooting, and the integration of new features.
· Utilize Azure Fabric for building microservices and distributed systems that enhance the resilience and scalability of our data platform.
· Integrate the Azure-based data platform with other cloud services, including AWS and Google BigQuery to ensure a unified and scalable data ecosystem.
· Contribute to the implementation of DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, enabling continuous integration and deployment for data services.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and address requirements, ensuring that data systems are aligned with organizational goals.
· Educate and support staff on data architecture best practices, providing training and responding to system issues promptly.
· Stay abreast of the latest advancements in Azure data technologies, DevOps practices, and big data tools, and integrate them into Care Access’s data strategy.
Physical and Travel Requirements
· This is a remote position with less than 10% travel requirements. Occasional planned travel may be required as part of the role.
