Carisma Therapeutics is seeking a Project and Portfolio Management Lead (Senior Director/VP) of Project and Portfolio Management] to oversee the strategic development of Carisma’s pipeline of novel therapies to address unmet needs in Oncology and other disease areas.

The successful candidate will:
 
 

Responsibilities:

    •  lead cross-functional matrix teams comprising experts in clinical development, clinical operations, translational medicine, research, regulatory affairs, CMC, commercial, finance, and project management to drive strategic planning, including formulation of integrated development plans with appropriate budget and resource allocations
    • work with senior leaders to ensure program strategies and operational plans are aligned with corporate objectives
    • build alignment and cohesion between team members and across functions to ensure on-time and on-budget execution of development plans, providing cross-program/portfolio identification of priorities, trade-offs, risks, and mitigation strategies
    • act as point of contact and accountability for project teams to senior executives, providing regular updates, recommendations, and resource requests as well as flagging risks to strategy, timelines, and budget
    • interact with personnel at all levels of the organization and represent project teams both internally and externally
    • ultimately build a portfolio management group and a framework for the operation of project teams, with accountability for delivery of a pipeline of products that is aligned with corporate strategy

Requirements:

    • Experience in successfully leading cross-functional teams (preferably both early and late-stage) with in-depth knowledge of preclinical, translational, clinical, regulatory, CMC, and commercial functions and responsibility for budget and resource management in partnership with finance and project management.
    • Minimum of 10 years of industry experience with at least 5 years of experience in multi-disciplinary team leadership and a track record of success in program/strategy execution
    • Experience in cell and gene therapy drug development preferred
    • Experience in Oncology preferred
    • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, internal and external stakeholders, KOLs, and business partners
    • Able to think strategically and work in an agile manner in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
    • Able to critically evaluate scientific and clinical data (both internal and external) and keep up to date with scientific and clinical advances as well as competitive information
    • Effective communicator with strong scientific background (advanced degree preferred)
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
