JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
- Contributing to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
- Maintaining inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording the location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
- Locating materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Maintaining in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Locating and packing materials for shipping.
- Documenting materials and records units delivered and location of units.
- Receiving credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supply codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
- Preparing finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products.
- Documenting product shipment by recording units shipped.
- Maintaining material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.
- Operating pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signaling machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
- Keeping inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
- Opening containers, sorting, and cataloging materials.
- Learning and adhering to workplace safety regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A high school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience working as a material handler.
- Adeptness at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with prioritizing tasks and meeting multiple deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- A process improvement mindset.
- Knowledge of inventory control.
- The ability to lift heavy materials.
- Data entry skills and the ability to read and analyze information.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Previous stock or inventory experience.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack.
