We are looking to add a Senior Reliability Engineer to our Specialty Engineering team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment, and are passionate about developing reliable leading-edge electronics for aerospace and defense systems, we would like to hear from you.
 
In this role, you will be responsible for the reliability and maintainability of complex electronics system. You will have the opportunity to work should-to-shoulder with design engineering teams to influence system architecture and electronics design decisions from a reliability perspective. You will own and author reliability analyses and reports to support critical customer deliverables.
 
At a small company and a startup, your work will make direct contributions to the success of the business. The work is challenging and impactful, requiring both breadth and depth of technical knowledge. Our products are made for high-reliability space and airborne applications, so designs require high levels of technical rigor while maintaining the agility of a startup environment.
 
The successful candidate will also present engineering design review materials to our customers and executive team. As such, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Analyze the reliability of electronics modules and systems based on piece-part-level reliability data.
    • Suggest redundancy and fault containment methods to improve system reliability.
    • Analyze the maintainability and availability of ground and airborne systems for defense applications.
    • Author reports that will go directly to customers for key project milestones.
    • Contribute to reliability engineering process development to help scale this function in a high-growth startup environment.
    • Develop and maintain reliability databases to streamline future work.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 4 years of industry or university research experience in reliability engineering or electronics design.
    • Strong technical background in electronics, including failure modes of electronic components.
    • Experience with reliability analysis standards such as MIL-HDBK-217 and VITA 51.
    • Experience with industry-standard reliability analysis tools such as Relyence.
    • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability and Maintainability analysis, and Built-In Test (BIT) design.
    • Strong technical communication skills to author customer-facing reports.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Designing HALT/HASS test plans.
$101,500 - $124,000 a year
