EU Policy Manager (Contractor)

Chamber of Progress, a tech industry association devoted to technology’s progressive future, is seeking a Policy Manager to join our Brussels team on a contractor basis. This role will support our work in Europe and report directly to our Senior Director for Europe. The role will focus on a wide range of digital policy issues with a particular focus on AI and competitiveness, and will start out with a 6-month trial contract.

Responsibilities

    • Work collaboratively with Chamber of Progress colleagues to achieve policy goals
    • Provide substantive short-form commentary on European tech policy topics, including in particular AI and European competitiveness
    • Familiarity with a range of other digital policy areas including blockchain, autonomous vehicles, online speech and content policy, privacy, sharing economy, taxation, and workforce issues
    • Draft rapid response commentary for social media, providing an industry perspective on tech and innovation policy developments 
    • Anticipate and ideate solutions for policy challenges that tech companies face in Europe, in light of developments
    • Strategize with organisation's partner companies on European policy matters
    • Build relationships with industry stakeholders, civil society, and policymakers
    • Draft a monthly newsletter summarising recent EU policy developments
    • Draft letters, blog posts, statements, testimony, and consultation responses as needed
    • Participate in panels and at conferences to drive the policy discussion

Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of 3 years post-college work experience
    • Organised, curious, multi-tasker, with an appetite for learning and achievement
    • Experience in European politics, government, or public policy
    • Prior experience with technology and innovation policy
    • Excellent English writing abilities; must be a creative, succinct, and a fast writer
    • Must be located in Brussels
    • Must be able to work as a contractor

Compensation

    • €4,000-€6,000 per month (gross, commensurate with experience)
    • Work as a contractor (6-month trial period)
    • Start date: 1 October 2025
