Position Overview
Responsible for providing instruction to fixed-route transit operators on the safe operation of fixed-route transit vehicles, including familiarization of routes and schedules and other transit related matters. Assignments include preparation for and classroom instruction, curriculum development, CDL instruction, and on-road training. Maintain records, prepare reports, and submit daily progress reports to the training supervisor, as required. Attend training as needed.
Compensation
The hourly base wage of the selected candidate will be paid during the training period. Upon successful completion of the training period, compensation shall be 115% of the employee’s current wage, at the appropriate step, for all hours worked as a fixed-route transit operator instructor.
Work Schedule
Work hours will be assigned as needed and may include evenings and weekends.
