Responsibilities

    • Lead all Style content and strategy across platforms, including editorial features, social, short-form video, and commerce content, ensuring we have timely and consistent coverage, quality commentary, and analysis.
    • Manage a team of writers, editors, producers, and content creators.
    • Help guide editorial voice and vision for Complex Style.
    • Curate taste and tone of channel to ensure both are on-brand.
    • Knowledgeable about streetwear and menswear trends, brands relevant to our audience (both big and small), fashion x pop culture crossover moments, and passionate about telling stories that will outpace our competitors
    • Conceptualize strategies to best distribute content via our networks, from social media to video properties.
    • Manage a monthly freelance budget and track traffic metrics.
    • Establish priority subjects and categories for coverage.
    • Spearhead innovation in story ideation and storytelling.
    • Communicate with other departments to develop stories, strategize coverage, and spearhead new ways to attract loyal readers.
    • Communicate with the Branded Content team on channel-related projects.
    • Provide creative input and monetization strategy around sponsorship packages and inclusions on channel-related Sales asks.
    • Help mentor junior staff to further their growth as skilled editors, reporters, and brand ambassadors for Complex.
    • Collaborate with the Special Projects Manager to develop Content plan for NTWRK commerce drops.
    • Work with Special Projects Manager to create commerce content for across Style channel.

Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience managing a team and 6+ years of writing and reporting experience at a website, newspaper, or magazine.
    • E-commerce experience is a plus.
    • Always-on approach to work and the ability to lead and inspire a team to keep pace with the internet.
    • Demonstrable commitment to accuracy; fact-checking or copy editing background a plus.
    • Must be comfortable working with a broad range of cross-functional staff—junior to senior, editorial, analytics, design, etc.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills—ability to perform in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, and think quickly and strategically to meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to distinguish the good ideas from the "noise."

$105,000 - $115,000 a year
The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Complex Total Rewards offerings for employees.
