As a Deployed Engineer at Conjecture you will work with our Technical Product Managers to embed yourself with our clients to quickly understand their problems and build custom solutions based on CoEm principles. Acting as essentially the CTO of your own small startup you will spend your time discussing architecture, wrangling data, integrating APIs or coding a custom web app, all while keeping in contact with customer executives. This is an extraordinary opportunity to deploy a new AI paradigm within leading enterprises that will require strong communication, problem solving and technical skills.

We have a preference for people who have worked in client facing B2B environments and have taken solutions from 0-1, rather than worked on smaller components of established systems.

List of responsibilities may include:

    • Work with our Technical Product Managers to understand the problems clients face and develop relevant technical solutions.
    • Build solutions on-top of ML APIs, including easy to use front-end interfaces and iterate on them quickly based off user feedback and data.
    • Generate innovative new product or tool ideas for enterprises that can be build on top of modern AI models
    • Implement product design with a high quality bar.
    • Build tooling for model inference, visualisation, and infrastructure.
    • Own problems end to end, from the early exploration of the problem through to releasing things to customers, and understanding that this doesn't just involve writing code.

You might be a good fit for this role if:

    • You are a strong technical fit, able to make rapid progress on engineering projects and iterate quickly.
    • You have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team with high bandwidth communication. You are proactive, driven, and creative.
    • Have built fantastic products used by many people.
    • You are able to solve small, isolated problems like bugs in code, as well as grapple with large meta-level problems, like refactoring code or changing libraries.
    • You care more about outcomes and impact than the exact implementation, or the tools used to solve the problem.
    • You like moving quickly and asking “how can we do this better and faster”?
    • Are willing to travel to client sites up to 25%.

Experience with the following would be a bonus:

    • Developing custom solutions for enterprise clients.
    • Understanding the basics of PyTorch for ML and compute orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
    • Implementing new models or optimisation techniques from research papers.
    • Understanding of machine learning and interest in AI.
    • You care about the impact of your work on the long term future of humanity and creating safe and beneficial AI.
