Cottage was founded with the belief that there had to be a better way for homeowners and contractors to work together. We are building a SaaS-enabled marketplace that allows homeowners to design online, get upfront pricing and access vetted contractors who run their business on our platform. We're starting with Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), which provide much needed housing, a smart investment for homeowners and consistent work for contractors.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Cottage in a leadership role within the growth organization as the Director of Sales. We are looking for a leader with experience scaling a lean and goal-oriented sales team, managing our Account Executives (AEs) and Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). This role is for someone who wants to be part of an exciting start-up, solving complex problems that touch everyday consumers.
As Director of Sales, you are responsible for bringing new homeowners to the platform. You will work directly with Marketing to build and manage a pipeline of homeowners as well as contribute to the efficiency of the Cottage’s sales process, growth goals and business development initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Build a high-performance sales organization driving consistent and predictable revenue growth
- Have a deep understanding of the entire homeowner journey and serve as the voice of the consumer
- Recruit, onboard and coach our growing team of AEs and SDRs
- Implement processes, tools to improve conversion and make our acquisition machine as efficient as possible. You’ll have latitude to experiment and innovate to push our business forward.
- Collaborate with leadership on building Cottage from the ground up - including its business strategy, culture, and offerings to homeowners
What You’ll Need
- 6+ years of experience in sales in an early stage or high-growth tech environment with 2+ years of management experience
- You are passionate about sales and building teams with a track record of hiring, coaching and exceeding targets
- Comfort with a fast-paced, rapidly changing and ambiguous (but fun!) work environment
- Passion for real estate, architectural design and home improvement is a plus!
