EMARKETER is hiring a Director of Business Intelligence to join its Data and Analytics Team.

As Director of Business Intelligence at EMARKETER, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data-driven decision-making processes. This role sits within the Product and Tech department, and reports directly to the VP of Data and Analytics. This leadership position is responsible for spearheading the development, iteration, and enhancement of our sophisticated business intelligence dashboards, data models, and company KPIs and metrics. 

The Director of Business Intelligence will lead the charge in ensuring our business intelligence tools uphold the utmost standards of accuracy, reliability, and relevance. They will empower both internal stakeholders and clients with actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Leadership and Strategy Development: Lead a team of BI analysts and engineers in the strategic planning and execution of business intelligence initiatives. Develop and implement BI strategies that align with eMarketer's goals and objectives.
    • Dashboard and Report Development: Oversee the design and development of innovative business intelligence dashboards and reports using Sigma, ensuring they meet the needs of users and deliver actionable insights.
    • Data Infrastructure Oversight: Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure the stability and scalability of our data infrastructure, particularly in the wake of our migration to DBT Cloud. Ensure the infrastructure supports the efficient creation and delivery of BI solutions.
    • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain rigorous quality control and assurance protocols to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of data presented in BI tools.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to identify business intelligence needs and opportunities. Act as a liaison between the Product and Tech department and other departments to ensure BI tools are aligned with organizational needs.
    • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in business intelligence and analytics. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in our BI processes and tools to maintain relevance and competitive advantage.
    • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the BI skills of the team and broader organization. Ensure that users can effectively leverage BI tools and insights in their roles.

Desired Skills & Experience:

    • Extensive experience in business intelligence or a related field.
    • Experience in a leadership role managing BI projects and teams.
    • Hands-on experience building dashboards using cloud BI tools (e.g., Looker, Metabase, Sigma).
    • Strong foundational understanding of business intelligence design principles.
    • Highly proficient with Snowflake SQL and modeling within DBT Cloud; experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
    • Basic knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and cloud data warehousing principles.

Salary & Benefits:

    • Base salary: $155,000-$180,000  (dependent on skills & experience)
