EARNEST Partners is seeking an experienced Data Analytics Engineer to help design and maintain the firm’s modern data platform. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to lead initiatives that transform how data is collected, managed, and used across the firm.
Core Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain a centralized data warehouse consolidating multiple internal and external data sources.
- Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL Server, Dagster, and dbt.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reporting workflows for investment and client teams.
- Build internal tools and UIs to enable employees to access and analyze portfolio and client data.
- Automate recurring workflows such as data cleaning, reporting, and information gathering.
- Develop and deploy AI-powered assistants and tools to enhance efficiency across the firm.
- Champion best practices in data engineering, including version control, testing, and CI/CD using GitHub.
- Collaborate across investment, operations, and client-facing teams to understand needs and deliver scalable solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, or related field).
- 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with ETL/ELT orchestration (Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect).
- Hands-on use of dbt and modern analytics engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and performance optimization.
- Experience building dashboards with Power BI (or similar).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks or applied NLP solutions.
- Experience building internal apps, APIs, or UIs for non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience mentoring or leading junior team members.
