Boilers, furnaces, and kilns are the engines of our industrial economy, providing heat to melt steel, form cement, and transform chemicals. But historically reaching this high-temperature heat required burning fossil fuels, making the industrial sector responsible for 25% of global greenhouse gas emissions.
Electrified Thermal Solutions has a simple and massive goal: to electrify industry.
To do this, we are building the Joule Hive™ thermal battery: an energy storage technology that converts and stores cheap, renewable electricity as high-temperature heat. Our vision is to mitigate gigatons of CO2 emissions per year by deploying the Joule Hive™ at every industrial furnace, turbine, boiler, and kiln.
About the Role
Electrified Thermal is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Sales to lead our sales efforts across Europe (with an initial focus on France and Germany). We seek a candidate with a track record of building a sales strategy and leading a high-performing sales team to successfully execute on it. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable creating frameworks and mentoring teams, as directly engaging customers and creating lasting customer partnerships. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a start-up/ high-growth environment and bring a flexible, positive attitude as they “do what it takes” to drive commercial success in European markets. The role will report to the Vice President of Business Development and may be remote, hybrid, or in office in Amsterdam.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets for Europe.
- Build, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals.
- Develop and deploy systems, frameworks, and supporting software to effectively forecast, maintain accountability, and drive sales results.
- Initially, identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with industrial customers and/or energy savings contract project developers.
- Manage and grow existing customer relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for expansion.
- Build and nurture a robust sales pipeline, accurately forecasting sales and providing regular updates to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and marketing teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and product development.
- Understand customer technical requirements and effectively communicate Electrified Thermal’s value proposition.
- Represent Electrified Thermal at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Negotiate complex contracts and agreements.
- Collaborate with the finance team to nurture and maintain successful relationships with HaaS financing partners.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify new business opportunities.

What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field or MBA.
- 10+ years of progressive industrial and/or project development business-to-business sales experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership or management role with direct reports.
- Strategic thinker with experience developing sales strategies and leading their successful implementation.
- Experience developing sales frameworks and metrics for forecasting and tracking sales performance and maintaining accountability.
- Experience using CRMs to fully manage and report on forecasting and performance.
- Experience in industrial equipment sales or energy savings contract project development preferred.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding multi-million dollar sales quotas in a complex sales environment.
- Experience and knowledge of industrial heating equipment, industrial heat processes preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of natural gas and electricity markets preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
