 Position Title: Compliance Engineer
Location: Westlake Village, CA or REMOTE (USA)

About the role
As a Compliance Engineer, you will plan, develop, and implement the company's technical compliance capabilities according to local, national, and international standards.  This role will conduct assessments and audits as well as handle reporting channels related to compliance.  You will be expected to keep up with industry trends and changes in related compliance such as NIST, ISO, NERC, FERC, and IEC.  Additionally, this role will create actionable tasks for various teams across technology focused teams ensuring compliance is an embedded part of the daily work; meaning, the person will be expected to have a sound technical and analytical background.  Strong innovation, curiosity, attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills along with some out-of-the-box thinking will make you successful in this role.  Energy Vault is a rapidly growing company so you will have an opportunity to be diverse and play an integral part in the company’s future security posture as the company scales.

What you will do

    • Ensuring the company's technical compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Conducting tests and studies into the company's product compliance.
    • Producing reports on compliance testing, developments, and processes.
    • Instituting best-practice procedures for compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Developing strategies and implementation plans for compliance-related matters.
    • Explaining and defining compliance protocols and measures to stakeholders and relevant authorities.
    • Managing complaints and technical issues relating to product design and manufacturing.
    • Advising management on compliance-related matters.
    • Checking the status of various business operations to ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Shape a culture of collaboration, innovation, constant improvement, excellence, transparency, open mindedness, humility, integrity, efficiency, joy, compassion, and fulfillment.

What a qualified candidate should possess

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science or Science/Technology/Engineering/Math
    • 3+ years of work experience
    • Proficiency in report writing, analysis, and compliance procedures.
    • Thorough understanding of regulatory frameworks.
    • Experience with product testing and process analysis.
    • Skilled in business operations or project management.
    • The ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in writing.
    • Solid technical knowledge and understanding of product/process design.
    • Problem-solving abilities are essential.
    • Familiar with information security best practices (NIST, NERC, FERC, IEC, ISO)
    • Strong communication (verbal and non-verbal) and organizational skills, innovative, open-minded, and a team player.
    • Willingness to travel domestic and international an estimated 15-25%.
    • Experience in public companies is a plus.
    • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid growth environments is a plus.
