About the role
As Manager, Sourcing and Procurement you will manage the regional sourcing and procurement process from initial supplier outreach and selection through to final qualification. You will be responsible for several key commodities sourced “in region” including power equipment, electronics, inverters, and transformers. You will manage the relationships with suppliers through the purchasing and delivery of key components needed for our energy storage solutions. Leveraging your (electrical) engineering background, you will also collaborate regularly with your technical and procurement colleagues at Energy Vault to understand our energy storage systems and requirements. You will also utilize your knowledge of industry trends for commodities and specialized parts and machinery to optimize the overall costs of our storage solutions.  Depending on your experience, we may hire at the Senior Manager level/title.

What you will do

    • Continuously further through research, conversations, and professional development your understanding of our renewable energy storge industry, our products and technology, our processes, our suppliers, and our other stakeholders.
    • With your understanding of technical requirements, search out, qualify, establish and maintain relationships with regional suppliers throughout our scale up in production. 
    • Travel to the supplier locations, to the USA headquarters in Westlake Village, CA, and international travel where appropriate; total travel target 20-30%.

What a qualified candidate should possess

    • 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial construction, utilities, energy, or similar.
    • BS in Electrical Engineering preferred; MS nice to have.
    • Nice to haves include experience with battery energy storage as well as with procurement of medium voltage transformers and inverters.
    • Shrewd negotiation skills and keen ability to balance cost savings with relationship management.
    • Solid understanding of design to costs, innovative ideas, and long-term cooperation.
    • Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, and different types of project management software.
    • Track record of building and improving upon processes that make sense.
    • Excellent oral and written communication, attention to detail, as well as emotional intelligence.
    • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid growth environments; experience in public companies is a plus.
