Role
We're looking for a passionate, artistically-minded individual to contribute to Gantri’s exponential growth. Our automated manufacturing facility has plenty of opportunities to develop your career with new, exciting production solutions in a variety of different work disciplines. This role would closely collaborate with our R&D teams to improve the existing manufacturing hardware and processes. We aim to empower each technician to voice opinions and take initiative that could benefit Gantri as a whole.

The Senior Painter (Finishing) will work with a team of other finishers to deliver high quality furniture pieces. He/she/they will train other finishers in the craft of painting, sanding, and preparation of parts to yield the best quality. This position will be based in San Leandro, CA working 6am - 2:30pm shift.

Duties

    • Painting of small parts using high-build primer, fine enamels, and clear coat finishes
    • Sanding of parts to an acceptable surface finish in preparation for paint
    • Application and fairing of body filler to surface imperfections
    • Coordinating with operations management to deliver hundreds of parts per week
    • Collaborating with R&D staff to write new work instructions before product launches

Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Computer operation proficiency (Windows, Mac, etc)
    • A minimum of 5 years related experience
    • Verbal Spanish language proficiency
    • Experience with leading crews inside a paint booth or cleanroom
    • Experience painting enamel coatings using HVLP spray techniques
    • Written and verbal English language proficiency
    • Use proper painting techniques, understand and correct paint viscosity for different spray equipment, identification of improper and/or unacceptable finish application
    • Able to lift up to 35lbs regularly
    • Able to operate hand or power tools necessary to complete assigned tasks
    • Able to stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
    • Eligible to work in the United States
