Gantri is seeking a results-driven Director of Manufacturing to lead operations across our two Bay Area manufacturing facilities. This is a key leadership role, responsible for scaling and optimizing production to meet demand while maintaining rigorous standards in quality, efficiency, and inventory accuracy. You’ll oversee a 24/5 production schedule across multiple teams and shifts, driving continuous improvement, accountability, and performance at every stage.

This role collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and Quality to ensure seamless material flow and process control. Ideal candidates will have a track record of operational leadership in high-mix and high-volume, fast-paced environments and a deep familiarity with MRP systems, lean principles, and real-world problem-solving on the shop floor.

Core Responsibilities

Production & Operations

    • Oversee all manufacturing activity across two sites, including planning, scheduling, and execution across multiple shifts.
    • Ensure daily production targets, on-time delivery (>95%), and yield standards are consistently met or exceeded.
    • Continuously improve line efficiency, cycle time, and schedule adherence through data analysis and root cause correction.
    • Partner with Supply Chain on material availability, lead times, and supplier quality management.

Team Leadership

    • Lead and support 30–75 production team members, including supervisors and shift leads, across day and swing shifts.
    • Build a culture of accountability, respect, and high performance through coaching, expectations, and evaluations.
    • Manage staffing levels, shift coverage, timekeeping, and corrective actions.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

    • Ensure accurate inventory tracking (via FIFO, cycle counts, MRP), reducing excess stock and stockouts.
    • Align production with SKU-level forecasts from CX, Product, and Marketing teams.
    • Apply lean manufacturing and Kanban principles to optimize throughput and minimize waste.

Quality & Compliance

    • Partner with Quality to enforce process controls and reduce defects through SPC, MRB reviews, and corrective actions (8D/CAR).
    • Maintain compliance with all configuration and quality system requirements.
    • Champion operational standardization, documentation, and cross-training protocols.

Qualifications

    • 7+ years in manufacturing leadership, preferably in high-mix, high-velocity environments.
    • Proven experience managing multi-shift teams across multiple facilities.
    • Strong command of inventory systems, material planning (MRP), and supply chain workflows.
    • Expertise in lean manufacturing, workflow design, and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Fluency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with production software and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Fishbowl).
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead from the front.
    • Preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Operations, or related field.
    • Experience with facility expansion and/or relocation is a plus.
