About the Role

As our Strategic Finance for Transport Strategy & Planning, your role is a sweet spot between strategy and finance. You’ll take the wheel to drive Gojek’s Transport business across Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam. You will be at the forefront of helping to drive the overall direction and narrative for transport, including any strategic financial decisions impacting our operations.
This will include providing key insights to the leadership team and proposing solutions to drive efficiency and optimal capital allocation. This will also require you to work closely with our strategy team, finance team, product managers, marketing team, research, and business intelligence teams. In this process, you will get to discover the fundamental drivers of our business and identify opportunities to grow our business into a world-class transportation ecosystem. What you will do

    • Collaborate with the leadership and working teams to develop a view on product and country narrative that will be translated into annual targets and budgets/forecasts that will be shared with external investors and analyst 
    • Build financial and operating models from scratch, which may include improving existing models, and break down initiatives lever to its core levers - as these models and narratives are not only used to make high-level business decisions but are highly critical to help the working teams execute  
    • Collaborate across other Gojek products (ie. food, logistics, etc)  for company-wide big bets 
    • Collaborate with country GMs / region teams, product managers, marketing, and other S&P fellows to help drive optimization discussions, while highlighting risk and opportunities with the aim of optimizing capital allocation and business outcomes 
    • Update regular reporting to the leadership team for transport global products - coordinating and consolidating business/financial updates (Budget vs Actuals), product, and other OKR updates 
    • Prepare analysis and insights (financial and non-financial) related to exploring new growth initiatives 
    • Deep dive into the global transportation industry to better understand the competition’s strategy and other opportunities we can explore in the long term - this may include deep diving into the financials and non-financial aspects of the business (ex: going through prospectus, 10Q, Quarterly reports, and other analyst reports that may be useful)
    • Identify and help drive data reconciliation along with relevant stakeholders and the business intelligence team to ensure a single source of truth for all parties

What you will need

    • BS/MS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent experience
    • At least 4 years of experience in the financial services industry, corporate strategy roles in technology companies, or consulting
    • Outstanding analytical skills - standard methodologies should be second nature, building models that are efficient, scalable, and intuitive for working teams to understand and use 
    • Excellent communication skill is needed as you will need to build relationships across multiple teams and across various countries to help drive successful outcomes 
    • High ownership and the ability to constantly prioritize and manage multiple high-priority projects 
    • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, Powerpoint/Google Slides (which may include Thinkcell), and other analytical databases. Understanding of SQL is a plus. 
    • Hustle is essential, moving quickly and executing to allow for continual iteration is a core competency of the team
