About the Role
As a QA Engineer in GoTo Financial, you'll own day-to-day quality for a product squad. You’ll design and execute test plans for medium-complexity features, balancing exploratory/manual testing with automation, and drive regression cycles to certify releases. You’ll test APIs, debug and fix flaky tests, and turn results into clear, quantitative quality signals. You’ll work closely with PMs, engineers, and Support to clarify requirements, surface risks, and keep customer-impacting issues out of production.
What You Will Do
- Plan and execute test strategies for medium-complexity features (exploratory, manual, and automation), covering edge cases, usability, and backend flows
- Build, run, and maintain automated tests; debug flaky failures and automate common user paths
- Lead squad regression cycles and certify releases with clear go/no-go and risk rationale
- Test APIs with tools like Postman; validate data with basic SQL; operate/monitor CI jobs
- Track and report quantitative quality metrics; highlight customer and revenue impact of issues
- Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and support to clarify requirements, triage bugs, and manage dependencies
- Own the squad’s feature testing and bug triage; suggest process improvements and mentor juniors in assigned areas
What You Will Need
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual and automation)
- Strong understanding of testing fundamentals, test design, and regression practices
- Familiarity with APIs (REST/GraphQL), able to test using Postman or similar tools
- Basic SQL knowledge for validating and troubleshooting data
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and debugging automated test failures
- Good collaboration and communication skills, able to work with PMs, engineers, and support
- Proactive ownership of squad-level quality, with the ability to manage dependencies and triage bugs effectively
