About the Role :
Area Sales Manager drives sales execution and merchant growth by maintaining relationships with top merchants, overseeing sales operations, and ensuring flawless execution in their area. They analyze market dynamics, identify key challenges, and develop strategic focus areas. Additionally, they mentor the sales team in their respective area, provide coaching, ensure compliance, and collaborate cross-functionally to maximize merchant success.
What you will do:
- Maintain relationships with top merchants in the Area under his/her responsibility.
- Actively participate in Business Reviews with Account Managers, Account Executive Leads, and Account Executive to provide coaching and maintain relationships with Top Merchants.
- Ensure flawless Execution in the Area.
- Determine short-term and long-term problems in the Area.
- Create and update City Narrative to determine the focus and understanding of problems in his Area.
- Observe market dynamics and competitive activities from competitors in the Area.
- Become a Person In Charge Sales in the Area that is his/her responsibility.
- Collaborate actively with City Cross Functional.in order to grow the merchants further.
- Proactively mentor the sales team both in the field and in the office.
- Actively review and provide feedback to the Sales Team regarding capability gaps.
- Actively ensure discipline and compliance in the way their team works.
- Create a succession plan.
What you will need:
- At least 5 years of experience within a mid-to-senior management function (preferred eCommerce or start-up companies).
- Strong network and knowledge about the cities in the area.
- Strong business sense and have good understanding of the markets, customers, and competitors.
- Excellence to bridge, develop and maintain good relationships with key partners such as but not limited to local/regional government stakeholders, 3rd party partners, merchant associations, communities.
- Strong written & communication skills, fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, experienced in managing a big team, as well as strong in people development and mentoring/coaching.
- Fact-based/number-oriented individual, who is comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
- Willing to be placed anywhere in Gojek area of operations
About the team:
Area Sales Manager (ASM) will work within direct command of Area Senior Manager and matrix collaboratively with the Region sales team on some projects. You will lead the Sales team consisting of Account Manager (AM), Account Executive Lead, & Account Executive (AE). Area Sales Manager regularly visits with the team members to their assigned merchants across their Areas to see what really happened on the ground as well as providing advance advice to them in increasing transaction overtime.
