The role
We’re adding a Risk Manager to our team to evaluate and manage risk vectors for our insurance and lending products. You'll work closely with business operations and the the product engineering team to deliver scalable solutions for handling fraud in a dynamic environment.
As a Risk Manager, your work will include developing scalable processes and technical solutions to detect and block fraud. Unlocking scale and protecting Grid from bad actors, your work "behind the scenes" will be at the forefront of Grid's ongoing success and growth.
This role is fully in-person at our company headquarters in San Francisco.
What you’ll do:
- Design, develop and operate fraud detection systems
- Quantify, monitor, and minimize Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
- Use data to evaluate overall health of products and areas for improvement
- Take ownership of our insurance claims processing system, operating it end-to-end
- Establish sustainable best practices for Business Operations to improve customer experience
- Work with product engineering to build integrated software solutions that streamline claims evaluations through multiple phases
- Lead and own projects end to end
- Use non-traditional risk management approaches to tackle complex problems in a constantly evolving environment
- Identify and execute on workflow efficiencies and tooling opportunities
What we're looking for:
- 4+ years experience identifying and solving problems at a fast-paced, growth-focused organization
- Data-driven approach, fluent in SQL
- Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and data
- Motivated, entrepreneurially minded individuals who thrive in an environment with minimal structure, high ownership and technically challenging problems
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into pragmatic, actionable plans
- An efficient approach to risk management that drives accuracy without sacrificing user experience and growth
- Experience evaluating emerging technical solutions to creatively solve complex problems
- Program management experience in building programs and processes from the ground up
