We are Growth Lending. We work with innovative and high-growth companies in both the UK and USA, helping them to accelerate their growth by providing flexible credit solutions. We provide facilities from £100,000 to £30m and have lent more than £1bn to more than 500 companies and counting. We have a global footprint, with offices in London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Manila, Atlanta and Cape Town.

The Portfolio Analyst role sits in our Portfolio team in Cape Town and is central to our success. When we provide funding to small-to medium sized companies in the UK and US, we also provide support and financial know-how to ensure they can service the loan, succeed and grow. This is something that makes us truly distinctive; when we invest in an organisation, we don’t leave it to fend for itself but provide regular skilled, specialist support from our team of highly qualified finance professionals in Cape Town.

In this role, you will gain diverse and invaluable experience in managing investments in highly disruptive SMEs. You will learn the ins and outs of running a company, honing your financial analysis skills and building long-lasting relationships with the management teams of our portfolio companies. For each client, the challenges are different. Working alongside a highly experienced team, you will learn the key drivers of success and how to avoid failure. This will inevitably expand into anticipating a business's financial needs and helping our company's leaders to manage both risk and new opportunities in a much more meaningful way.

You will be CA qualified, post articles and have 1-2 years solid work experience under your belt. You’ll have a front row seat to our clients’ critical choices post funding; such as further M&A, financing alternatives, and the broader strategic direction, all which will enable you to develop your business expertise. You’ll gain the skills and confidence to make tough and potentially unpopular decisions, in order to protect the interests of our investors and stakeholders. You will become adept at investigation, high-impact reporting, and credit paper preparation, and all of this will enable you to accelerate your career in the alternative investment and asset management industry.
We do things differently. Growth Lending is no ordinary place to work. From the start we have focused on driving up diversity and inclusion in the financial services space. We strive constantly to ensure that throughout our team, at all levels, we achieve a diversity that matches the world around us and not just the sector in which we operate.

To support this aim we offer every member of the team the following:

• An organisation that embraces and encourages diversity, top to bottom and end to end
• Diverse recruitment panels
• Enhanced parental leave policies and practices
• Flexible working patterns, including working from home and fitting around the family, plus part-time positions where possible from a business perspective
• Strictly monitored and enforced pay equality
• One-to-one coaching and mentoring programme from a highly skilled and experienced People team
• Access to high quality internal and external training
• Excellent benefits and Employee Assistance Programme as standard, with additional external support when required

When we say that everyone is welcome, we can prove that we mean it. We are a highly supportive employer and we know we only get the best of the best when the only things we judge are experience, skills and aptitude. Growth Lending’s organisational culture celebrates difference and encourages individuality, so start thinking about where you fit in.
