About the Role
As the Director or VP of Claims, depending on your experience, you will build a world-class claims team that specializes in investigating and promptly resolving all levels of claims that result from transportation activities. You will initially work with our current TPA while building and leading an in-house claims organization that focuses on securing the best possible claims outcomes while providing excellent service to HDVI customers. You will deliver claim insights, trends and help develop actionable processes which will result in the continued improvement of business results.

What You'll Do

    • Provide strategic and operational development and leadership of HDVI’s claims group
    • Closely manage and direct all aspects of the current HDVI TPA’s claims handling to drive acceptable claims handling outcomes 
    • Build a best in class internal HDVI end to end claims handling capability to transition claims handling in-house 
    • Structure, hire, train, and manage initial claims team members and continue to build and lead the team 
    • Develop and implement claims operations processes, set KPIs for the claims team and manage those KPIs 
    • Oversee the implementation of HDVI’s claims handling and related systems 
    • Develop a set of trusted claims vendors to assist HDVI internal resources in all necessary stages of the claims process 
    • Build a robust national defense counsel panel with a focus on transportation litigation expertise 
    • Formulate a consistent, accurate claim reserving and reporting process 
    • Develop and integrate a rapid response 24/7 critical claims process

What You Have

    • 10+ years of work experience in commercial vehicle claims operations (trucking preferred) with at least 7 years in a claims organization leadership position 
    • Strong leadership and management abilities as evidenced by prior experience building and leading teams 
    • Proven track record of thinking strategically and planning ahead to set and meet growth and performance objectives 
    • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving high-growth environment 
    • Numbers-driven approach to problem-solving 
    • Analytical skills with emphasis on generation and utilization of data to drive operational and financial performance 
    • Strong interpersonal and project/time management skills 
    • Ability to effectively present to and speak with all levels of an organization 
    • Strong customer focus which includes both internal and external customers
